Green IT Crash Course

organized by the  Green IT Special Interest Group of the Swiss Informatics Society, on Wednesday, February 13



The Special Interest Group on Green IT of the Swiss Informatics Society offers this crash course as an introduction into the field of Green IT, presented by lecturers of the CAS Green IT at University of Lucerne.

This pre-conference activity is open to all conference participants and to the interested public.

Objective of the workshop

Information and Communication Technologies are a critical component to replace fossil and nuclear energy and achieve the goal of a sustainable world but they are also a major energy consumer. In the Crash Course Green IT you will learn how the energy consumption of the ICT activities can be reduced by focusing on the whole Product Life Cycle of the ICT infrastructure and ICT applications, including ecological and social aspects.
